Louis Hottet’s “Rebecca at the Well”

This vintage plaster hand painted sculpture, circa 1860’s, depicts the biblical figure of “Rebecca at the Well”.. The substantial work of art is created by French artist Louis Hottet whose knowledge of human anatomy is evident as each fold of her clothing caresses her well proportioned body. The subject is posed beside her water jug & well.
