Tiffany & Co. Mantle Clock, Circa Late 19th Century

Description

This impressive Tiffany & Co. mantle clock is designed in a rich cherry wood enclosure. The clock body is decorated with gold dore’ bronze templets that adorn the front panel. These templets or stencils have a scrolling pattern accented by burgundy silk cloth behind each. The side panels are decorated with a similar but more modest pattern that enhances the entire ensemble. Presumedly, these panels amplify the sound of its bell movement.
