Pottery Inkwell

This unusual pottery inkwell, circa late 19th century, is designed in a manner attributed to French artist Emile Galle’., The pottery is a rich dark amber color with a hand painted scene in dark brown tones & hues. The scene depicted in the foreground is an inlet with boats accented, by a shoreline of trees & schrubs. The pottery form of the inkwell proper featuring a bronze stemmed cap is coiled, highlighting the tray. Bordering this unique piece are cold painted bronze driftwood forms framing this artistic creation.
